Policies

  1. New Client Meet & Greet: We offer new clients a complimentary meet & greet. The meet and greet is an opportunity to introduce your animals, show us your care routine, and ask any questions you might have about our services.

  2. Time Block Scheduling: We offer a guaranteed arrival time within one hour of your requested time (2 hour arrival time block).

  3. Minimum Pet Sitting Visits: For pet sitting visits, we require a minimum of 3 visits per day for dogs, and 1 visit per day for cats, birds, horses, etc.

  4. Home Access: We accept the following entry methods. Key copy - a key copy can be securely stored in our office for as long as you remain a client. Lockbox - a lockbox may be provided onsite with access code to access stored keys. Door code - a door code may be provided for entry in the absence of keys. We recommend that clients provide two methods of entry.

  5. Emergency Contact: We require clients to offer the name and number of an emergency contact who has access to your home in the event of emergency. We recommend that you list a nearby neighbor who can easily reach your home in the event of inclement weather. We will always contact you first in the event that we are unable to make it to your home in a safe and timely manner.

  6. Payment Policy: We accept payment in the form of cash, check, and online payment. Payment is due at the end of service.

  7. Inclement Weather: If it appears there may be inclement weather that will prevent us from driving to your home, we will notify you in advance. We require clients offer the name and number of an emergency contact, ideally a neighbor, who can easily reach your home in the event of unsafe driving conditions.

  8. Authorization of Emergency Veterinary Care: We require clients to offer us the name and number of their primary veterinarian. If your pet becomes ill while you are away, we will always contact you first to notify you of the circumstances. In the event that we cannot reach you, we will contact your veterinary to determine the best course of action. In booking our services, you consent to authorization for payment of emergency veterinary care.

  9. Reimbursement of Unforeseen Purchases: Please ensure that your home is adequately stocked with necessary pet care items. Should we run out of essential pet care items while you are away (food, litter, cleaning supplies, etc.), we will purchase replacements and provide a receipt to the client. In booking our services, you consent to reimbursement for unforeseen pet care expenses.

  10. Visitors: Please notify us in advance if there will be other visitors entering your house while you are away (family, friends, house cleaner, home repair technicians, etc.)

  11. Photos and Videos: Photos and videos of pets may be used on the Howl ‘N’ Oats Animal Care website, social media, email and printed media for advertising purposes. We will never share photos while you are away from home! If you do not wish your pet to be featured in our media, please let us know in advance.

  12. Privacy Policy: All of your information will be kept private and confidential. Howl ‘N’ Oats Animal Care highly respects our clients entrusting us with the care of their home and their loving pets.
